The Best Medicine

I am leaving for the She Speaks Conference in North Carolina. It is put on by the Proverbs 31 Ministries and is an essential part of growing my speaking ministry. But wouldn’t you know the enemy does not like this too much?

I have a critical medication for a chronic health condition that has been well managed to this point. When I went to refill the prescription for this medication, I found that it needed a new pre-authorization. Well, I had to jump through some serious hoops to get my doctor’s office to answer this query.

So, I am getting pretty stressed about having the prescription filled before I leave. In a tizzy I called my friend Jen whom I met at She Speaks last year. She bubbles over in her faith and is a fountain of God’s Promises.

In response she said, “I have some great news for you! Turns out that it is news I have known but seem to have somehow forgotten. Jen assured me that God has a Plan for me for the next four days (Like what part of a PLAN FOR MY LIFE do I not understand?). If I have to delay my departure or pay an astronomical amount of money out of pocket (that I don’t have), He will provide.

He has paved the way for the teaching I will be privy to. I will meet whom I am supposed to meet. And learn what I am meant to.

There are many people who struggle with the same condition that don’t even have insurance too. Where is my gratitude for a struggle with an insurance company because I actually have insurance anyway?

Of course, Jen is helping me pray… especially when the insurance company denied my medication and Publix said it would be $1000.00 a month cash price. The prayers are being answered by way of Goodrx that showed me that Costco would sell me medicine for $35.00.

Proverbs 17:22

A joyful heart is good medicine, But a broken spirit dries up the bones.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Philippians 4:19

And my God will supply all your needs according to his riches in Glory in Christ Jesus.
